Slipper orchid

I have kept this slipper orchid over a decade but it rarely bloom due to unknown reason.  It came from Netherlands, I think I might haven't provided a proper living environment for it.  Luckily this year the blooming is back.  And I noticed that the flower whose slipper-shaped pouch is smaller than the usual.  Evolution for without insects' pollination?

A green Christmas

The plant grows weaker and weaker, lower layer of leaves turned to yellow then fell off gradually.  It lost the bright appearance and seems not adapted to indoor environment.  Now I am in a dilemma as whether to keep it or not.

Only open one flower for me this year,  the replanted flame violet protests about my negligent care.

My green path.

They stand patiently on top of a shoe cabinet, waving me goodbye and greeting me home.

 They rarely flower but will do at the right timing.  Brilliant and strongly fragrant flowers only bloom at night then wilt before dawn, last 2 or 3 nights until all flower buds are gone.  Counted about three times blooming for me in circa 15 years.

The flower buds struggled out of the thick forest of leaves to show their beauty!

Slipper orchid

They give me four blooms this Autumn.  Their origin is from Vietnam but name, no idea.
